Susan Folwell (Mesa Flower), a very accomplished Native American potter from the Pueblo of Santa Clara, created this intricate pot. The small pot is packed with Native American designs etched into the pottery and finished with a variety of shades. Susan Folwell comes from a talented family of potters. Her grandmother is Rose Naranjo, and her mother is Jody Folwell. Susan has won awards at the Santa Fe Indian Market and the Heard Indian Market. Her work has been written about in several books. The pot measures 2 3/4" in diameter and 2 3/4" tall.
It is not certain if this pot was every signed or if the signature may still be on the pot, as the base is so small (3/4" across). We were told this was purchased directly from Susan Folwell. There was a small sticker on the bottom (see photos). We thought there might be a signature underneath and took a chance to remove it. If there was, it can no longer be seen. The visible portion of the pot is in excellent condition. The bottom has abrasion where the sticker was removed.
