A very pretty hand-made blackware pottery bowl by Martha Appleleaf (b. 1950). Martha is a Native American from the San Ildefonso Pueblo. Martha’s family has a long and noted history, making some of the finest blackware pottery ever produced. Her mother was Carmelita Dunlap (Niece of and trained by Maria Martinez), her brother is Carlos Dunlap and her son is Erik Fender. This bowl has a black on black design on the upper rim and is highly polished solid black on the lower portion. The bowl measures 4” tall by 5” wide and is in very nice condition.
