A pretty Hopi wedding vase created by Little Fawn Navasie-Garcia (b. 1959), before she assumed the name of Fawn. This wedding vase features traditional Hopi and family designs including the white slip style that her mother (Eunice Fawn Navasie) taught her. She has described this as more difficult to make and made this type of pottery early in her career The wedding vase measures 10 ¾” x 6” is good condition with no chips or cracks.
Fawn’s family is famous for potting. Her relatives include Dawn Navasie, Dolly Joe Navasie (sisters), Stetson Setalla, Dee Setalla, Marianne Harrison, Burel Naha, Sylvia Naha (cousins), the late Eunice Navasie (mother), Helen Naha, Joy “Frogwoman” Navasie (aunts), and the late Paqua Naha (grandmother).
