Magnificent bronze Clodion sculpture of children and a goat, cast by Ferdinand Barbedienne (F. Barbedienne) one the finest French foundries of the 19th century. Claude Michel (1738–1814), also known as Clodion, is the original sculptor. This sculpture has attained the classic patina of an antique French bronze.
The sculpture is signed Clodion on the flat portion of the base. F. Barbidienne Foudeur is stamped on the side of the base. The overall dimensions are 7 ½” x 7 ½” x 5 ½”.
